This week we are finishing up a very substantial project in Redmond – the Essex Park Condominiums. This project had considerable challenges; it was multi storied and there were a number of carpentry repairs needed. Hiring a full-service roofing company like Haider Construction makes the difference for big projects like this one. We are both a remodeling and roofing contractor, and so have available the experienced carpentry crews needed for a job of this scale.
We recently completed this stunning remodel to a home in the Magnolia neighborhood of Seattle. The owners lived in a 1950’s bungalow for close to twenty years when they contracted us, looking for a remodel that would bring more space and a modern look.
Here is the house “before”:
and after!
The front entrance was moved to the side of the house, providing space for a large, private patio. The entire roofline was changed, adding 5 feet to the front of the house. A modern shed style roof gave the expansion space needed to install the full sized windows that make up the front of the house.
Take a look at the old kitchen:
The new kitchen, featuring beautiful wood custom cabinetry was enlarged and remodeled, opening to the spacious dining and living space where the couple entertains.
The owner’s interest in cooking is well accommodated with the new hood system, appliances, and ample storage and dining areas.
This space spills out to the patio, providing expansive views of the Seattle skyline and Puget Sound.
One of the best ways to add curb appeal to your home is to consider your entry way. As you can see from this recent project in Greenwood, this modest house gets great “pop” from a new covered porch. This additions adds a great deal in terms of street appeal and property value.

And here is the “After”, with an attractive covered entry, brick pillars and treated cedar steps and railings.
